Katie and Matt 1 of 2
Katie and Matt’s wedding was a perfect fall wedding. The whole day was gorgeous but we had an amazing time doing the portraits. The most amazing part needs a bit of set up.
Katie’s father had passed away several years ago and so they had already prepared themselves for the mixture of sadness and joy that would be their union as he wouldn’t be there to bear witness. What she later told me was how much her father loved deer. Whenever they would happen upon one, he would have to stop and admire them.
As we worked our golf cart through the back woods of the Medallion Country Club to wrap up the portrait session, we ourselves happened upon a deer. And this deer did not behave like an ordinary deer. Though she couldn’t have been further than ten feet away from us, she didn’t spook. I was snapping away photos and she didn’t flinch. Katie and Matt got their picture taken with the deer and still it stayed. When it finally did leave us, it slowly walked off into the woods. It was an incredibly powerful moment.
The rest of the night, as Katie danced with Matt and the framed picture of her father looked on from the nearby table, we knew his spirit had visited us in that moment.

Chris and Eileen
I thought we had perfect weather for this Halloween wedding. It was also super nice to have a two hour block of time for portraits. As you can see, we had a good time exploring the possibilities. But when you have a beautiful couple, a lovely fall afternoon, a trolley, a graveyard and a flash, how can you go wrong?
